Kim Jaejoong - Drawer translated lyrics

English lyrics translation of Drawer, track 2 on Jaejoong's second solo album, NO.X.
For anyone intrigued by why Jaejoong would have a song called Drawer??
Not sure this will answer that question really, lol.  ^_^

In truth, sometimes even though I am crying,
It didn't seem like my own tears.
When I didn't know why I was sad,
I often listened to sad songs as an excuse to cry.

Who would I be without my name?
Thinking of that I was always scared
Afraid of talking without a melody.

Days of youth that were nearly completely forgotten
Days that almost passed unnoticed
They look sad
Towards the past

Just this is ok, because inside this heart is burning
I look down to the cold heart
Whatever you say
I cannot forget

I am afraid it was all lies
What I said yesterday
Always going over my words
Plausible words, words for my benefit
Words for your benefit
I hate that one by one, beautifully
They deceive me.

Days of youth that were nearly completely forgotten
Days that almost passed unnoticed
They look sad
Towards the past

Just this is ok, because inside this heart is burning
I look down to the cold heart
Whatever you say
I cannot forget

Like the sun with a single sunbeam,
Differently illuminates many days
I am seeking just a single me
The me who wants to make you smile.

If I can wait (I promise I will wait for you)
If I can only do it (if I can only do it)
On uncomfortable, windy nights (windy nights)
In the gap of a rattling drawer (in the gap of a drawer)
Me seeking you
You seeking me
In order to find the only "us".

Translator's Note:  Parts of this song were really obscure.  I hate the "because inside this heart is burning / I look down to the cold heart" part... still FAR from happy with my translation of that bit.
OMG there were so many ways I could translate that, and would you believe it they all mean TOTALLY DIFFERENT THINGS.  o_O

It was enough to fry my brain.  (_ _);

I figured there was a contrast between the lines, say between one heart "burning" and the other being "cold", but an alternative translation (as far as I can see) would be to take the verb 타다 in a totally different sense.  Yes, it means "to burn", but helpfully it also means "to ride / take etc" as in for a bus.

In the following line "내려봐" rather than "look down" might be making the contrast meaning "to try to get off", once again like a bus.

Or some combination of the two.

If I am honest I just thought burning hearts were more poetic than hearts being like buses, but hey, it's a song about a DRAWER for heaven's sake!!  So maybe I am wrong.  ^_^;;

I guess even the obscurity makes instant sense to a Korean.  Wouldn't that be nice...

Luckily for me, the rest of the song was much more straightforward.  ^__^
